About the Artist

Corey Hudnall is an artist originally from Florida, now residing in west Texas with her partner and their child. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Humanities with a minor in music (classical piano) from Rollins College, where she participated in the Winter with the Writers internship. This experience allowed her to collaborate closely with New York Times best-selling authors, including Sy Montgomery, who deepened her passion for the ocean and its creatures.

Artistic Inspiration:

Corey draws inspiration from her personal journey navigating chronic illness, specifically Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and the multiple surgeries she has undergone. Her art serves as a medium to explore the intricate interplay between the human body and the environment. Inspired by the cycles of nature, particularly the ocean and its majestic inhabitants like whales, Corey's work reflects themes of solace, freedom, and resilience. Through a play of light, reflection, and darker aesthetics, she captures the nuances of existence and the beauty that emerges from struggle and rebirth.

Portfolio Highlights:

Within Corey's portfolio, each piece represents a visual narrative of self-discovery and healing. Ethereal depictions of water and marine life intertwine with intimate explorations of the human form, portraying vulnerability and resilience with rich symbolism and metaphor. Her art invites viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness of life's experiences.
